DIY Geek Chic

Looking to the 2010 (and what a fantastic year for fashion THAT promises to be!) the Geek Chic look is coming back!
For girls follow these simple steps:

1) Hair, swept back if long or straightened and hanging. If short try a chic bob or androgynous cut.
2)Make-up minimal. A little mascara and light shadow. Bold, thick-rimmed glasses a must.
3)For clothes think cool androgynous. A Cotton shirt and slim trousers OR knee-length skirt and long coat.
4)For shoes you are looking for the power look. Brogues look great (especially coloured) or dress the outfit up with stilettos.

REMEMBER: When using this look you HAVE TO go full out or it won't work. There is no point doing this if you're not sure of yourself!

Sorbet Shade Pic

Alexis Mabille's trousers/top I mentioned in my last post:

Cheer up - wear sorbet shades!

On the runway sorbet shades have been stealing the show recently. Lemon, aqua, jade, lilac and pink are making their mark at the couture shows, which kicked off in Paris yesterday.
Featured on Vogue's website was a gorgeous loose lemon top with pastel pink trousers. The look is relaxed but smart and the colours definitely help that!
Looking at some high-street shops I can see some sorbet shades creeping in for the Spring/Summer collections but as yet sorbet shades are quite difficult to come across.
What I AM loving to see is the return of 'candy-coloured jeans' which are looking very chic in the winter months!

Audrey Auction

Wow, wow, wow, wow! That is all I feel I can say to give this monumentus occasion in the world of fashion justice! But, of course, I'm gonna have to try right?!

I have just read that Audrey Hepburn's wardrobe is going to be sold at Auction. The pieces are currently part of a touring exhibition in Sotheby's New York and Paris and will be exhibited at La Galleria, Royal Opera Arcade on Pall Mall, London on Sunday December 6 from 12 noon - 5pm before being sold on December 7 and 8 at the same venue.
Amazing, huh?!

Visit this link and also Audrey Hepburn's website to see more about the charity and also to see Vogue's pick of the best clothes and accessories that should fetch the best amount of money! :-)

At the moment I can't say much about the charity because I can't get onto the Audrey Hepburn website but check it out for yourself - it is seriously worth it! :-)

Fashion News Update: Jimmy Choo for H&M

I have been reminded of this it seems every 17 minutes by my girlfriend and I feel that by putting it on this blog she might...erm....shut up!

Tomorrow, the Jimmy Choo for H&M sale gets under way! It includes, not only completely affordable shoes and bags but also the first ever womenswear pieces that the accessories label has ever produced. Should be exciting and I shall probably be dragged along with Kaylin to pick out some shoes. But NO MORE BAGS I say! I have counted and she has a total of 23!!! WHY? I own 6 bags and I think that's pretty extensive!
How many do you have? What, pray, is the point? Please, leave a comment - I am much confused!!
